Mom Life

Stop trying to get back on track.

I watched Michelle Obama’s documentary, “Becoming” the other day as I was doing dishes. It was my second time watching and of course new things stuck out to me that I didn’t notice the first time. The question was asked how do you get back on track now that you are out the white house. Her response was, “It’s not getting back on track, but creating my new track.”

This made me raise my eyebrow, because I often find myself saying I have to get myself back on track. This has changed, that has changed, my career has changed, my weight has fluctuated, I’m a mom of 4 now and ect. I have to get myself back.

But Michelle made me think, No, I don’t have to get myself back. WHY? Because I have to realize where I am now and enjoy that. Michelle helped me to see that things change and I don’t have to go back and try to live in those moments, but to embrace the moments that are to come. These four little faces that you see are my why. I’m not the same person I was before I had them, so there’s no need to get back on that same track. This is the plan God has for my life and I am going to do the best I can to be the best at it. Realize you don’t have to get back on track. Just create and embrace your new track.

If you have not watched or read the documentary yet, check it out
