7 Ways To Enjoy Your Pregnancy Journey
If you haven’t heard already…I’m going to be an Auntie!!!! I am beyond excited. Watching my sister go through this pregnancy journey has been such a beautiful experience. To watch her belly grow from nothing to a round basketball has been so cool.
Pregnancy is such a beautiful transformation that your body is going through and before you know it, the baby is in your arms. Yes, it seems as if it happens that fast! I have been giving my sister advice on how to enjoy and make the most of her pregnancy and I want to share these things with you too!
These things are super easy and basic, but you would be surprised how many women get caught up in everything and forget to do them. I have talked to several friends that have said I wish I would have remembered to do that. So here is your reminder to do the simple things, because when you look back, you will be so glad that you did.
7 Ways To Enjoy Your Pregnancy Journey
Embrace It
You are pregnant! Embrace it!! Take it all in and soak it all up!! Enjoy the ride!! You have 9 months to enjoy being the center of attention, catered to and loved on more than normal, simply because you are pregnant. People allow you to sit down first, let you skip the line in the public restroom and never side eye you when you ask for seconds or thirds when you are eating. Enjoy this royal treatment, because when the baby gets here, unfortunately, the attention shifts.
Love your baby bump
Rub your belly, talk to your baby, sing lullabies and allow your baby to get to know your voice. Your belly is stretching as your baby grows and guess what, you don’t have to hide your growing midsection! It’s a beautiful thing. As your belly gets bigger, of course your pants and shirts will get tighter. It’s important to be comfortable, so check out the belly band. The belly band is a must have in my opinion because it looks like a long, layered tank, but it’s really covering your unbuttoned pants without anyone knowing. Remember, being comfortable is important.

Document the process
Make sure you are taking monthly pictures of yourself as your baby is growing inside your belly. You will be amazed when you look back at how much your stomach was able to stretch. Record the baby kicking inside your stomach. This will be special to watch later and even more cool to show your child how they were moving around inside your belly. Keep a journal and write down all your cravings, feelings and exciting things that you can reflect back on later. Enjoy the ultrasounds and seeing your baby grow inside your belly.
Share your experience with family and friends.
My sister recently felt the baby kick for the first time. She shared with me how it felt, how it made her feel and how exciting it was. Sharing your experience makes the process more special. Having someone to celebrate with you allows you to enjoy the pregnancy journey even more.
Sleep
This is a piece of advice that every expecting mother hears all the time. Take advantage of the fact that you can sleep whenever you want to. The growing baby is going to drain you of your energy. Enjoy getting your beauty rest.
Plan for the baby
Planning can become overwhelming, but try to do things that will increase your happiness. Buy the baby’s first outfit, pick out nursery colors and themes. Create a registry with all your wishes for baby and of course, have fun picking out a name.
Wear that sexy lingerie
This is the time to put on all your sexy underwear and not worry about how your body looks. You can let your stomach hang out, you can embrace your stretch marks if you have any, because your body is in a beautiful state as it holds the creation of life. Oh, and don’t forget to admire how full and perky your boobs look at this point. You have to show those off! So wear all your sexy lace, barely there outfits with confidence.
I hope you are able to enjoy the pregnancy journey to the fullest and I pray for a healthy delivery for you and baby. Welcome to motherhood!
