It’s that time! Love is in the air. Valentine’s Day is only a few days away. So, what are you going to do? Do you have big plans, small plans, or are you still trying to make plans? Well, I have 10 stay at home Valentine’s Day ideas…after you put the kids to bed…just for you, so keep reading!

As a mom of 4, quality time with my husband can be limited, so it’s pretty valued. I always look forward to us spending time together, having date nights and enjoying each other’s company without 4 little ones in between us. But, reality is we don’t always have that luxury. Finding a baby sitter is hard because you have to be so careful who you trust with your children. Both of our families live hundreds of miles away, so we don’t always get the chance to go out. But, when we do get that chance, oh hunny, we take full advantage. And the efforts usually end up with us both sleep. 🤦‍♀️🤣 But, we did get a chance to get dressed up and act like we had a full night of fun ahead of us.

We understand that at this moment in our life, we don’t have the luxury of going out all the time for date night, so we have become creative and learned to date at home. Stay at home Valentine’s Day ideas can actually be a lot of fun and allows you to be creative.

So if you are like us, and have a house full of little ones that will not allow you to enjoy a night out on the town, put the kids to bed, and bring the town to you!

Here are 10 Stay At Home Valentine’s Day Ideas…After You Put The Kids To Bed.

1. Camp out on the deck if the weather permits. If not, use the living room.

Changing the scenery can always help spice things up and set the mood. Once the kids go to sleep, set up the deck (or living room) with romantic lights and music. Don’t forget the wine and the strawberries. Hopefully the stars are bright and you can both gaze into the moonlight.

Add lights to your deck to create a romantic atmosphere. Turn your deck into an area of romance for great stay at home Valentine's Day ideas.

2. Make a play list of music that is special to your relationship.

Play the songs and recall where you were and how that song made you feel. Each of you make your own play list. It will bring back romantic memories that the other one forgot. You will find yourself singing and smirking at each other as memories stimulate emotions.

3. Role Play The First Date.

Try to reenact the exact day that you met or went on your first date. Try to remember the exact conversation and the language that was used. See if you can remember what you had on and if you were really as fly/sexy as you thought you were. You will find yourself laughing at each other and/or not believing it really went down like that.

4. Play The Game Would You Rather

This stay at home Valentine’s Day idea can be a lot of fun. If you have been together for a long time, you will be surprised how your partner’s mind and likes have changed from when you first met. Don’t be surprised if the answers you thought they would give are not the answers they actually say. This is a good way to learn each other, because we are always changing. If you are new to the relationship, this game will definitely give you insight on your partner.

5. Photo Shoot of Each Other

First rule…make sure this is not on a device/camera your kids have access to!!!! (You will have a lot of explaining to do!!) Perform a photo shoot to your partner’s liking. Take turns being the photographer and tell your model exactly how you want them to pose.

Cooking together can actually be kind of fun and romantic….especially if you don’t have to cook chicken nuggets and fries for the little ones. Lol. Prepare a meal together and then, go get dressed up to enjoy a candle light dinner. It may seem really basic, but having kids doesn’t always allow for these cliche’ moments. So they are usually valued.

Take a stroll back down memory lane and reminisce on old photos. If you have old cards and love letters you wrote to each other, read those again. Looking at these will remind you of why you fell in love with each other.
