5 Reasons You Should Take A Siblings Trip.
Remember growing up with your siblings when you were younger and all the fun you had. Remember the inside jokes, the stories only you could relate to and the memories made. Recall all the fun you had back then. Now add being an adult, leaving everything behind to be a kid again and being able to appreciate and enjoy the moment. This is why you should take a siblings trip.
My siblings and I are just getting back from our siblings trip to Las Vegas. I thought my head and stomach were going to explode from all the laughter we shared. It was 5 days of simple fun, relaxation and enjoyment that we each needed. With all of us living in different parts of the world now, it’s not as easy to get together to enjoy each other’s company. I always love having my kids and spouse around, but I greatly admire being able to connect with my brother and sister one on one.
5 Reasons You Should Take A Sibling Trip
1. Memeories
Whenever we get together, you can guarantee there is going to be a “Remember When” session, that will usually end in tears of laughter. It’s good to reflect on the good old times. Before life became busy, before marriage, before parenthood. Reliving the times when things were simple and it was just us.
2. Laughter
This is a given during the entire trip! It usually ends up in screaming laughter with tears streaming down our eyes and everyone is looking at us smirking at the fun we are having. Sometimes we are laughing at each other and sometimes we are laughing with each other. It just depends, no one is safe when it comes to our family jokes. But one thing is for sure, they are all done out of love.
3. Relaxation
When we plan sibling trips, there really isn’t a lot on our to do list. We are very laid back people and simply just enjoy the company of one another. Our trips involve a lot of relaxation and going with the flow. We love to eat, so we will go to a super chill vibe restaurant eat, talk and laugh for about 3 hours. We always have the best waiters, they never have a problem with us chilling there. Once, one of the waiters came over and asked when his shift was over, could he chill with us for a moment because he admired the bond we had. I enjoy not having a schedule and having to rush to do anything while on a sibling’s trip. The goal is always to have fun and relax.
4. They know you
Who knows you better than your sibling? There is no need to impress anyone for vacation, meet any standards or try to be someone you are not. A lot of things don’t even have to be spoken, because if you know, you know!!
5. Growth
This is probably my greatest take away from every trip. We take the time to admire the growth of each other. We give advice on how each of us can improve. Then, we discuss our failures and celebrate our success. We specifically help each other in personal areas and hold each other accountable on improving our weak points. We give constructive criticism from a place of love, but a place of help.
Every time we get together before we part, the question is always when will we see each other again or where to next? Looking back on our trips, you can guarantee, we created more memories, are still laughing from the jokes and have plans of going back home to improve ourselves to be better than we were. If you haven’t already, take a siblings trip and thank me later.
