How To Know Your Self Worth

We always hear know your self worth. Don’t underestimate yourself. Don’t let anyone tell you different. But what exactly does that mean? Know what about your worth? Knowing your worth is knowing you. Knowing who you are and what you represent.

This is a self journey that comes with time. It comes with experience and it comes with lessons of learning who you are and what you are all about. Everyone’s worth will be different and that is a good thing, because guess what, we are all different. (Duh right, but honestly, a lot of people try to base their worth on what others think and that will never work.)

10 Ways To Know Your Self Worth

1. Realize who you really are

Learn who you really are and accept it. Know that it is okay to be yourself at all times. Accept the person you are and embrace it.

2. Don’t let past mistakes define you

Life is about growing and learning. Mistakes that you made have made you who you are today. They may be mistakes that you are vocal about or some that you want to take to the grave with you and that’s okay. But remember mistakes are just that, mistakes. Don’t allow it to continue to alter your life. Live and learn, now move on.

3. Understand you have a valuable story

It’s easy to get lost and feel like your story is not important enough or interesting enough. But guess what, you are wrong! That is so far from the truth. Someone needs to be blessed by your presence and hear your story, because it’s important. It doesn’t matter if it’s only one person that needed to hear it, realize how beneficial you were to that one person. It may have changed their life for the better. That’s a strong impact.

4. Realize the difference you make

Now that you realize your story is valuable and you have the power to change lives, even if it is only one, acknowledge the difference you make. There is no job too big or too small, each one is important. Realize the impact you have on the world and how you and your journey are relevant and important. You may not change the world, but you can definitely change someone’s world.

5. Stay true to your values

Know what you want and what you stand for. Once you have done this, stay true to the values you have made for yourself. Realize that everyone’s values will be different. This doesn’t make anyone’s values right or wrong. But it is important to stay true to what you believe. Don’t change seeking acceptance. People will gravitate to you because you are true to yourself and they will respect your values. If they don’t respect your values, let them keep it moving, because you now know your self worth.

6. Remind yourself you are good enough

At times, this can be forgotten. But continue to remind yourself you are good enough. You have the power, determination and will to do what it is you want. Encourage yourself. Don’t wait for others to do it for you.

7. Reflect on your strengths and work on your weaknesses

We all have them. We are extremely good at something and need a lot of improvement at something else. Knowing your worth plays a big part in this. Identify your strong points and bring them to the table first. This will add extra value to you. While increasing these strengths, work on your weakness. You can use this positive energy from your strength to build on your weakness. Constantly improving yourself is a good thing because the more you improve the better you become.

8. Don’t explain yourself to anyone

You don’t always have to give an explanation. And that is just that. Be true to you and allow them to adjust.

9. Trust your decisions

Follow your heart and be confident in the decisions you make. Trust yourself that you are capable of making great decisions and stick with that confident feeling.

10. Value yourself

No one else will do it better. Know that you are a well rounded individual that brings great value to any situation and you are capable of whatever you put your mind to and work hard at.

This is how you know your self worth. It’s not really hard, it just takes some self analyzing and self assurance. If you haven’t found your self worth yet, use these tips and enjoy the ride because the destination will be so worth the trip.
