New Beginnings – How To Start Off The New Year Right.
Here we are, at the start of another brand new year. Too often we have resolutions that we proclaim, but never follow through on. This year, let’s do things differently. Instead of huge lists and out of reach goals that sound good, but we know won’t make it past March, let’s take small steps to improve. A little progress each day, adds up to big results as time goes on. Having this mindset is what will help us start off the New Year right.
Set Realistic Goals To Start Off The New Year Right
No more huge, year long goals, because as life starts life-ing, those goals get pushed to the side and are soon forgot about. If your goal is to work out and you know you haven’t done so in a while, start by trying to work out once a week and then build from there. Don’t try to say I’m going to work out everyday, because girl, you and I know what that will look like in a few months. Lol. So try, one day a week and build on that. Don’t try to attempt getting me time everyday this year, because you know how the kids are set up, instead try once a week or even once a month. Set realistic goals and start small. After you have mastered that, begin increasing the frequency.
Make Sure You Are Healthy
We are always taking care of everyone else in the house, the kids, our spouse and even the pets, but this year make yourself a priority. Schedule doctor and dentist visits for you, just like you do for everyone else. As moms, we have to be healthy in order to keep up with everyone else that depends on us. So this year, make your health a priority.
Move on Faith, Instead of Fear
There are probably a lot of tabs and ideas that were left open and incomplete in 2023, and a lot of that is probably due to procrastination and fear. This year, let’s move in faith, and even if we are still fearful, do it scared. Don’t let this be another year you don’t act on your thoughts, reach your goals and follow your dreams, because we are uncertain of how things will turn out. Have the faith that you can do it, and put the work behind it. We will never grow if we stay in the same spot.
Connect More With Family
Our families need us to be more present. Focus on spending quality time with your kids and significant other a little more. In this case, quality is better than quantity, because our to do list never stops, but we have to be sure to give them the time they need. Focus on meaningful conversations, activities they really enjoy and different ways you can connect with them on their level. Ask them how they would love to spend time together and lean into those ideas.
Express Gratitude
Being thankful can help you focus on the positive side of things. Last year may have been full of let downs and set backs, but be thankful you made it to a new year, which can bring about new changes. Express gratitude often and show your family how to do the same. Being thankful will help you to focus on the positive and improve your mood and perspective.
Take Advantage Of Your New Beginning
Whether 2023 was your best year yet, or one filled with lots of unexpected, undesired turns, embrace the fact of starting over and having a new beginning. If you want changes to be made, be adamant about making those changes and give yourself grace through the process. If you had an amazing year, I pray it continues and things get even better for you. This year, let’s all start off the New Year right. If we are looking for a change, then let’s do things differently that will bring us different results. Happy New Year. I pray it’s a great one for you.
