Top Places To Visit In Myrtle Beach For Families.
We recently took our daughter, Driauna, to Myrtle Beach, SC for her 8th birthday. This was actually my first time going to Myrtle Beach, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Well, let me tell you, Myrtle Beach owes me nothing! We had a great time and if you are looking for the top places to visit for families, I’ve got you covered in this post.
Fun Warehouse
We started off at Fun Warehouse. This place is a kid’s dream. Fun Warehouse has roller skating, bowling, go kart riding, laser tag, bounce houses and an arcade. We had so much fun here and were able to do all the activities in the same visit. Once the kids got hungry, we were able to visit the cafe area. The kids had pizza, cotton candy and slushies, while the adults were able to enjoy some adult beverages.
Wonder Works
Then, we visited Wonder Works. This is a scientific child’s play land. As you enter the building, you notice that the building is upside down, literally. It’s the coolest thing. This science world has four floors of scientific fun filled with games and interactive rides that stimulate the mind while educating in a fun way. I learned a lot here, myself. I probably had more fun than the kids. Lol. My favorite exhibit was the Titanic exhibit where we were able to feel the actual temperature of the freezing ocean water the night the ship sank. I told my kids now I understand why Rose never scooted over to let Jack have a piece of that head board. She was not about to risk dying in that freezing water. Lol.
There was a ride where the girls were able to experience what it feels like when astronauts fall back into orbit. That was an experience, an extreme roller coaster feeling. And the ride operator informed us, its’s way more intense in space, this is nothing. I laughed as Dreya told me, “Whew, Mommy, Dr. Mae Jemison is too strong for going through that!” As the girls experienced the fall back into orbit, DJ learned how to switch the controls on the spaceship, while being upside down. Let’s just say we enjoyed the NASA floor.
The top floor of the building has a ropes course and laser tag. And if you get the VIP ticket, you will go outside where you can zip line 50 feet above water. It was really fun watching the girls experience this for the first time.
Broadway At The Beach
Make sure you visit Broadway At The Beach. It has all different types of restaurants, vendors for shopping and a carnival like atmosphere. The kids were able to ride the ferris wheel, feed ducks and fish, play games and ride a few rides. The views are really pretty out there too. So if you enjoy people watching, you will love Broadway At The Beach. It just has a great vibe.
The Beach
Because we were in Myrtle Beach, of course, we couldn’t leave without visiting one. We got up early to watch the sunrise while sitting on the beach. It was so beautiful to see the sun glare off the water. It was chilly though at that time of day, so take a jacket.
Bennett’s Calabash Seafood Buffett
When it was time for dinner, we went searching for seafood, per request of the birthday girl. There are tons of all you can eat crab leg restaurants up and down the strip, but we decided on Bennett’s Calabash Seafood Buffet. We were very pleased and very full.
Ripley’s Aquarium and Big Air
We were told that The Ripley’s Aquarium and Big Air are a big must do as well, but we ran out of time and were not able to visit these places. So, we will be sure to check these out whenever we return.
This trip was a huge success. We were able to celebrate Driauna’s birthday and find some great things to do that led to making beautiful family memories. So I hope this post has helped you, if you were looking for a few top places to visit for families or if you already have a trip planned to go to Myrtle Beach, SC, go ahead and add these places to your to do list.
